Founded in 1961 by Donald Pyle, Great Hall Players performed at various venues in Norwich, most recently as the resident theatre company at The Assembly House. Although our residency agreement had not been renewed, we presented “A Lady Mislaid” there in November 2021 to celebrate the group’s Diamond Jubilee, which was also marked by the publication of a forty-page illustrated booklet documenting the group’s activities over its sixty year history. Copies of the brochure can be purchased using this link.
Unfortunately it is neither sustainable financially nor practical to continue to produce a play every six or seven weeks if we are not based at the performance venue and so Great Hall Theatre Company is no longer producing plays. However, the trustees are keen that the group will continue to contribute positively to amateur drama and the performing arts locally, and applications from groups are sought for contributions towards funding their activities. Details of the application process and relevant forms can be found here.
