COVID:19 - What is happening at Great Hall?
3rd February 2021 - With a third lockdown imposed on England, theatrical performances are not permitted, and we are not allowed to meet together to rehearse and prepare a play. So there will be no Great Hall Theatre Company production in March. Nevertheless it remains our intention to resume our activities as soon as we are able and allowed to do so.
4th November 2020 - With the restrictions to be imposed from 5th November, we shall be unable to produce a play in January 2021.
8th October 2020 - As the threat of a second wave becomes more apparent and reported incidents are rising rapidly, we are still not in a position to recommence rehearsals for our shows.
12th September 2020 - Gatherings of six people only are now allowed for amateur productions, however social distancing is still in place for our audiences and despite discussing this continually we are still unable to find a way to seat an audience 3 Metres from the Acting space.
25th August 2020 - Although indoor performances are now allowed, the social distancing laws are still in place, this means that, as unpaid actors, we are unable to rehearse a play with more than two households involved.
14th July 2020 - Plans are underway for our next season, production dates have been booked and plays have been selected. Currently we are still not allowed to rehearse or perform but we are ready for when the rules change. We have been meeting regularly with the other Theatre Groups and following the updates from the Society of London Theatres.
